Position Summary:

The New Home Builder Operations Manager (BOM) role is to serve as the main point of contact with Complete Solar stakeholders and external builder customer-based teams. They act as the subject matter expert from community launch to residential project (RP) production and forecasting, and through community completion. The New Home BOM will manage production by being a liaison between field construction and office-based departments. Day-to-day responsibilities for BOMs include but are not limited to managing at the community and RP levels: collection of the necessary information, documents and design files from builder teams; coordinating with

Complete Solar sales teams to ensure information is accurate and builder timelines are met, fielding and progressing start notifications, design & permit coordination, construction date accuracy, sub-contractor coordination, collecting of signed final permits from onsite construction managers and or AHJs, and system size and equipment change coordination.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with installation partner (IP) and builder roofer to define scopes of work and assign alliance partners as needed
  • Manage the need for RP object creation - based on email notification, builder portals (like supply pro), or updates from field personnel
  • Collect a lot-specific plot plan/sequence sheet from the builder and assign construction promise dates to all RP’s
  • Ensure requests are submitted to design in accordance with OP’s cut-off timelines
  • Ensure RP has a lot-level design and permit issued and delivered to job site prior to rough wire date
  • Work closely with Complete Solar field manager (FM) to calibrate construction dates and ensure our installation partner (IP) is onsite as needed
  • Coordinate with IP and on-site construction manager to ensure the installation of solar modules is within the construction build cycle and we do not slow down the builder’s production schedule
  • Work with IP’s directly or field-based contacts to confirm the completion of rough wire and PV/trim installs, marking as completed on a weekly basis
  • Track historical trends of: ‘trench to rough wire’, and ‘rough wire to PV/trim install’ – to develop averages per builder and community
  • Track historical trends of: IP throughput per region, builder throughput per community
  • Present weekly forecast to department director and peers – with quarterly accuracy of <5% variance
  • Collect all final solar and building permits per RP, prior to escrow date
  • Work with builder teams and Complete Solar stakeholders to determine if more RPs will be created

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to adjust communication style for interactions with sub-contractors, home builders and various internal stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to see the big picture, anticipate problems and how they will affect the project team, and proactively address these issues
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business economics, or related field
  • NABCEP certified or 1+ years working with photovoltaic systems
  • Design and or permit experience with photovoltaic or residential electrical systems
  • 3+ years in residential construction working with various trades; from trench to framing, electrical, plumbing, roofing, and finish work

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Regular periods of sitting or standing may be required by this position. In addition, this position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel should be expected with this role as well.
